Two Tenors to Perform at FBC in Burnet
On Sunday, May 31, the Two Tenors, Barry Craft and Ben Owens, will be in concert at the First Baptist Church in Burnet. One has an operatic flair and the other is a young contemporary musician.
It’s almost like “dueling tenors.” Together the Two Tenors have sung all across the globe.
About 15 years ago, Barry Craft hit upon an idea to span the gap created by the “worship wars” (contemporary vs. traditional music). Craft, a seasoned operatic tenor who has sung in concert halls around the world, would mix the stylings of the traditional music that he knew and loved with that of contemporary music. In the process, he has encouraged and trained many young musicians. Humor mixed with beautiful singing makes this a concert that is sure to please. This year the Two Tenors have added two young instrumentalists to the concert. Anthony Barrand plays the saxophone and Jareth Vickers plays the low brass. The concert is free, but a freewill love offering will be taken.
